In March, the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR) marked its 25th anniversary. FRRR was established in 2000 by the Australian Government and the Sidney Myer Fund to stimulate rural and regional renewal in Australia, by working in partnership with philanthropy, government and business.

The event was celebrated with a reception in the gardens of the Myer family's Cranlana estate, at which nearly 100 partners, supporters and staff of FRRR gathered to celebrate. They were welcomed on behalf of the Myer family by Will Myer, current Myer family representative on the FRRR board: “FRRR has been a mission, a commitment, and a source of great pride. From the very beginning, we have believed in the power of this foundation to strengthen rural and regional communities and seeing what has been achieved over these 25 years has been nothing short of extraordinary."

At the event, FRRR launched a report which highlighted that, since inception, it has distributed more than $200 million via more than 15,000 grants to more than 1,700 unique locations around Australia.
