A New Funding Program for the Independent Live Performance Sector

December 9th, 2014

On Tuesday 9 December 2014 the Sidney Myer Fund launched a new Capacity Building and Sector Strengthening Program for the independent live performance sector. The program will provide grants of up to $50,000 split into two equal payments over two years for independent companies and collectives that are not presently receiving any form of ongoing government support.

This program is for those groups, collectives and organisations that represent the hothouses of creativity in Australia, but that do not yet have the organisational structures in place to secure private or government support.

The program will distribute $1 million over four years. In the first iteration of this program, eligibility will be restricted to applicants from Victoria and Tasmania. It is envisaged that applicants from other states will be eligible in future years.

Full details of the program, including eligibility guidelines, selection criteria and the application process are available on the website.

Application to the program must be made by 5.00pm AEDT 15 February 2015.
