Midnight Basketball

“There is now widespread acknowledgement in the Midnight Basketball network of tournaments and communities of the importance of undertaking this kind of work and the value the Sidney Myer Fund has brought to this strategic project.” Tess White, CEO Midnight Basketball.

Midnight Basketball Australia is a harm prevention social inclusion programme that protects ‘at risk’ youth from harm whilst helping them identify and embrace positive opportunities. Dinner, compulsory life skills workshops and tournament basketball games are run in stadiums on Friday or Saturday nights from 7.30pm until midnight, followed by a bus home, providing a safe and motivating environment.

Midnight Basketball, supported by the Poverty & Disadvantage Committee through their Large Grants Program   2013 – 2015.
