NSW & ACT Arts Capacity Building Round
August 2nd, 2018
Sidney Myer Fund, Nelson Meers Foundation and W & A Johnson Family Foundation Collaborate to Support New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory Artists
2 August 2018
The Sidney Myer Fund, Nelson Meers Foundation and W & A Johnson Family Foundation are pleased to announce that their co-funded Capacity Building Program for New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory artists and small to medium arts organisations will open for application on 13 August 2018.
The program will provide grants of up to $50,000 split into two equal payments over two years to independent New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory companies and collectives.
This is the first collaborative funding project between the Sidney Myer Fund, Nelson Meers Foundation and W & A Johnson Family Foundation. Recognising the scale of the unmet need in the independent sector, the Trustees of the three philanthropic groups are pleased that recipients will be announced in December 2018.
The program will distribute $340,000 in the coming grant round.
This capacity building program will strengthen and grow the independent arts and cultural sector in Australia by granting money to ensembles, collectives and groups that are highly connected within their sector, and producing excellent work. Funds will be awarded untied – to be applied as the recipients see fit in the course of their everyday activities.
More information about the program can be found on the Sidney Myer Fund’s website or by attending an information session held at 1.00pm – 3.00pm, Tuesday 14 August, Downstairs Theatre, Belvoir (25 Belvoir St, Surry Hills). Applications to the program will open on 13 August 2018 and will close at midnight (AEST) on 16 September 2018.
