2019 Myer Innovation Fellows

Thomas King

For a decade, Thomas has driven initiatives in conservation, climate education and poverty alleviation across five continents. After realising the significant contribution of current meat production across all of these fields, he founded Food Frontier – Australia’s independent think tank and industry accelerator for plant-based and cell-based meat. By growing the ecosystem for these food innovations, Thomas aims to create a healthier, more sustainable and future-proof food supply.

Jo Kelly

Jo is the founder of the Australian Seaweed Institute – an impact business – to establish seaweed ocean farms and biotech innovation for Australian native seaweed products. Seaweed has the power to clean up oceans and is a highly nutritious, sustainable food. Through the Australian Seaweed Institute Jo is pioneering a sustainable business model as the blueprint for a new industry of the future.

Namunu Maddage

Namunu is a technopreneur who advances multi-sensory artificial intelligence to improve mental health and wellbeing. He is in the process of clinically validating an app that provides diagnostic assistance for clinical depression. The app will further serve as an early intervention tool that prevents individuals from falling into disability due to clinical depression.
